Your new catalogue is almost ready - only the translation remains. Would you like the final product to convince your (potential) customers and not come across as a hastily translated text? We are happy to give you three golden tips. You will notice that the translation of your catalogue will be so much smoother and more economical.
1. Start your project on time
In which languages do you want to send the catalogue out into the world, and when should your translations be ready? Tell us in time. This allows us to select the most appropriate translators available from our wide network. Thanks to their expertise, your catalogue will truly be convincing in any language.
2. Involve us in the layout process
Obviously, you want your catalogue to be flawlessly translated and perfectly formatted. It is therefore important to consider factors such as the file format and text length of the target language from the start.
We offer you two options:
- We provide you with a ready-made version, in all the foreign languages you need.
- We integrate the translation into the graphical source file, without checking the formatting. You (or your graphic design partner) take care of the final layout.
3. Choose consistent terminology and style
Different terms for the same product or service can cause confusion and detract from your catalogue.
Do you have additional instructions regarding your subject and preferred terms? Feel free to give them to us. Our translators and proofreaders will systematically apply all your preferences and record them in terminology lists (termbases) and translation memories. Thus, the language used in your translated catalogues is always consistent. Plus, there’s the added bonus of a discount for repeated phrases.
A style guide also contributes to the quality and consistency of your translations. What can such a guide contain? Instructions on spelling and grammar, the right tone of voice, fixed product names per country, the way you want to address your target audience in each country, etc.
Your project manager = your point of contact
One of our project managers will be your personal translation partner. They will be the link between you and our translators. In other words, the ideal person to advise and assist you. Whatever your language and translation needs.
