Whether it’s a brochure, annual report or manual, PDF files can be challenging to translate – especially when you need to maintain the original layout.
We are more than happy to provide a translation of your PDF file, but then as a Word document without layout. Of course, we can also deliver your PDF in the same layout if preferred, but keep in mind that this requires additional graphic design work and therefore an extra charge. With a bulky annual report, this can amount to quite a bit of extra expense. Also, a perfect end result is never guaranteed because we have to ‘reconstruct’ the PDF.
There’s a better way!
And it’s much easier than you might think. After all, a PDF always starts out as another type of file. So, simply send us the original graphic file format.
The advantages of an editable file are massive:
- The layout of your translations remains unchanged.
- No cutting and pasting required. This means your translations are ready sooner and you save the money that would have been spent on formatting.
- We can also use the translation memories accrued for you as our client. This guarantees consistent (and less expensive) translations.
So, before you have a PDF translated, check whether you have access to the source file (often an InDesign file). Search your files or ask your graphics department or partner. It is definitely worthwhile because it saves both time and money.
